Plein Air Painting at the Wharf
Do you love plein air painting, or have you ever wanted to learn? Then join us for an evening of creativity at the Leonardtown Wharf on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Capture the beauty of Breton Bay while enjoying the smooth jazz stylings of the GrooveSpan Trio, sample award-winning wine from the Port of Leonardtown Winery, organic plant-based food from Real Food Studio and tasty eats from Slim Chickens, and sweet treats from Frog Town Ice Cream Shop. The evening's activities are noted below. For more information contact: Brandy Blackstone at brandy.blackstone@leonardtownmd.gov. See more details below:
Come celebrate Earth Day and explore your creativity at the Leonardtown Wharf. Enjoy live music performed by the GrooveSpan Trio (hosted by Jimmy Hayden of RE-MAX 100 and Homes for Heroes) while you capture the beauty of Breton Bay (a wonderful site any time of day, but the sunsets are truly spectacular!).
Bring your own supplies and paint with other artists/art enthusiasts. Artist Carrie Patterson will be on site teaching a Plein Air Art Class. While the class is full, Carrie will have some tabletop easels and supplies on hand for anyone who would like to join in on the fun. You can also take part in a community mural project hosted by Artist Adrianna Reloba (sponsored by the St. Mary's County Arts Council) and enjoy organic, tasty food, award-winning wine and delicious sweet treats during this special evening.
Register for the gift drawings for your chance to win great prizes during the evening (Register Here)!
This event is FREE and open to the public, and all skill level and ages are welcome. Note: food, drink and treats will be for sale through participating businesses (Real Food Studio, The Slim Chickens Food Truck, Port of Leonardtown Winery and the Frog Town Ice Cream Shop).
